My name, as you have probably guessed, is John Runchey. I'm a 45 year old guy with a wife and 2 young daughters. During the day my 'real' job is as an electrical engineer for a cellular phone manufacturer, designing test automation software and hardware. While my job is very interesting and mentally stimulating (very important to me), it is still a job.
Part of me is always wanting to go off and do something entrepreneurial, but I'm not a huge risk-taker. I owned a laundromat for 4 years, but that doesn't have much growth potential - it isn't a job, but it's close. I want to try some things that don't require a large injection of capital - hence this site.
I've always been passionate about personal finance and self-improvement, interested in why some people are succeeding financially while others are falling behind, why life seems to come easy for some and yet so hard for others.
Financial knowledge is only one piece of what makes someone succeed - a much more important contributing factor is mental attitude and belief. Until you truly believe you can succeed and become wealthy, you will not. No matter how much you read and educate yourself, if your underlining belief is really "Sure that will work for him but not me, because...", then you are doomed. This is why I am so focused on the mental aspects of success as well as the practical nuts-and-bolts information.
I hope you find my posts interesting, entertaining, and helpful. Success is just up to YOU - nothing stands in your way except your own beliefs. So let's go out there and whup some ass.
- John
